Patio Resurfacing Services - Modesto, CA - Call (209) 661-7722

A plain gray patio is boring. It may be in good condition but there is something lacking when you look at it. Good news is that you don’t have to pull it out and incur heavy installation cost. There are many ways we can improve the appearance of your patio through our resurfacing techniques. Our cement-based overlays or micro-toppings are wonderful options for introducing a decorative touch to your existing patio while concealing all the eyesore spots such as discolored pavers. Once the overlay is applied, it may be stenciled, stamped, or stained; but of course according to your taste. Before the resurfacing procedure takes place, we must assess the area and check all the weak points and their possible causes. If the patio is settling, it might require other solutions like slab jacking or replacement. For more information, call (209) 661-7722.

Concrete overlays transform patios into fresh looks
There are various types of overlays that can be used for patio resurfacing and selection depends on various factors including weather conditions. Given the many options, you are sure to find one that meets your needs be it durability, low-maintenance, tight budget, and appearance. Cement based overlays have been in use for years and most of the contemporary resurfacing systems integrate cement with polymer resins and several other additives to enhance performance and aesthetic value.

More on Patio Resurfacing in Modesto, CA

Polymer-based overlays are applied in thin layers and attach well to existing surfaces. They are resistant to salt damage, abrasion, chemical abuse, freeze and thaw, and UV rays. Even though these overlays provide the same functionality merits, every design comes with its unique qualities. Polymer resins are specifically incorporated to produce alternative products with different characteristics. Other decorative overlays are made of acrylics whose bonding strength is superb.

A good point to note is that not all patio surfaces can be resurfaced. If the underlying base is crumbled, the technique may not work. Severe cracks, unstable soil, settling, and heaving are impediments to resurfacing. In such scenarios, the only viable option is complete replacement.

Refinishing Overlays
The type of product chosen is dependent on the owner’s preference and the condition that the overlay will be facing. Higher-builders stand up well in any weather and can conceal flaws better than thin toppings. They also allow for heavier textures and patterns. We provide a variety of refinishing products are such as:

Gray Microtopping
It is also known as skim coat. Charcoal gray microtopping adds drama to an existing patio while at the same time reducing maintenance requirements. This design is the ideal complement for ocean-blue patio tiles or fire pit. The application of the super-thin overlay facilitates flexibility, something that differentiates them from other types of overlays.

Spray - Down Overlays
They measure one-eighth of an inch and are applied as splatter coat. They are the most appropriate finishes for plastic stencils. They are pre-colored but tints and dyes may be added for more accents. They produce a skid-resistant and durable finish, which is not only good for patios but also for pool decks and driveways.

Stamped Overlays
Stamps are used to produce textures as those of stamped concrete. Some will look like natural stones, while others as bricks and slate. Faux limestone, for instance, is lightweight and requires low maintenance. They allow for different colorings such as tints, pigments, stains, and colored liquids. They are placed in higher thicknesses in order to facilitate bold textures and conceal surface flaws.

Self - Levelers
A quarter of an inch is the thickness required in the application of self-leveling overlays. Integral pigments, dyes, or tints, used to enhance color. They restore worn out but structurally sound patio surfaces. Like the name suggests, they don’t require manual leveling as they can do it on their own.

Patios that have seen better days can spall and delaminate, or even cause danger as they become slippery. Are you searching for an effective remedy for your old patio? Our concrete overlays will serve you well. They are crafted to replicate the beautiful looks of natural materials like natural stones and much more. However, no patio construction material is perfect; even the most exquisite can crack, pop out, or discolor. Typical repair may help to fix these blemishes but the outcome may be unattractive.

Ripping out the entire patio is and replacing it is not the only recourse. If the concrete is in its perfect condition, other economic alternatives for face-lifting the patio are the most viable. That is why we offer decorative concrete overlays to improve the looks of your old patio. Give us a call because we are waiting to hear from you.
